The Voice of Knowledge: A Practical Guide to Inner Peace
Don Miguel Ruiz

Don Miguel Ruiz, also author of The Four Agreements, is a nagual (shaman) from the Eagle Knight lineage, shares the wisdom of the ancient Toltec. He reminds us that we are all story tellers of our own tails and not to take anything personally because we are only secondary characters in that person's story.

The Hidden Messages in Water
Masaru Emoto

I'm reading this now. A friend (hi, Vickie) from LA told me about his work a while ago and I found some info on a web site. So, I bought the book. If the experiments are good, the book gives proof for the power of positive words and music. Even if the experiments aren't good, we can all be more positive and loving in this world. The book contains photographs (as well as text) about Emoto's experiments with water and the effects of playing classical music to and saying or even just placing words on the container of water.

Years ago, I had seen research about the effects of playing music to plants. Plants that were played classical music grew better than plants that were played hard rock or no music. The water and photography of ice crystals continues this type of experiment. Water spoken to with kind words developed beautiful, symmetrical crystals. Water spoken to with mean words, developed rather ugly crystals.

If I were rich, I'd send a copy of this book to all my friends and family just to remind them and me how much our words and musical choices matter to ourselves as well as others.

Moore--

Dark Night of the Soul: A Guide to Finding Your Way Through Life's Ordeals
by Thomas Moore

What I like about Thomas Moore is that he is not afraid to look at "the dark side" of humanity -- he doesn't medicated it or sugar coat it. It's not about evil or punishment -- it's about living. We all go through times of challenge. The easy way is to go through life using meaningless words or activities to keep our minds off the "dark night" -- words or activities that act as our night lights -- things that sooth us and let us drift off to sleep. Moore challenges us to be awake with the darkness -- as long as we need to be. He offers no quick fixes but somehow his words are thought provoking and helpful.

The Holy Man and the Holy Man's Journey -- Susan Trout

Good, short, gift books to remind us what life is really all about. I don't want ruin the story so I won't say more. Another book I'd love to give everyone.
